Does anyone else think that...

... the "Evil is waiting" tagline for the new abominable version of the cult classic "The Wicker Man" refers as much to the idea of doing the remake as it might refer to any evil the protagonist may encounter?

In the US, the tagline is "Some Sacrifices Must Be Made". I'm guessing they're referring to "quality" and "integrity".

What is it with all the remakes? It went all really bonkers when Paul Verhoeven remade Psycho with all the same dialogue and, I think, with all the same camera angles. Now what the bloody hell was that all about?
But back to Wicker Man, it reminds me of a really pleasant evening spent with JJ a month or so back - no, of course she didn't do THAT dance ;-))

"when Paul Verhoeven remade Psycho"

It was Gus Van Sant. Verhoeven's nuts, but he's not that nuts.

But... but... it's got Nicolas Cage in it, which means it will be fantastic. Then again, I thought the original was rubbish, so...

I SO thought that the original was rubbish too. Way too up its own rear. At least Nicolas Cage may succeed in bringing the whole thing down a notch or two! Might be a tad more realistic. Who knows;I won't be clammering to see it anyhoo. Maybe I'll get hold of the DVD some months up the road Rullsenberg...and when I visit yours..we can enjoy watching it together!!! ;) ahem...you know you want to....oh well..just me then ;)
